Royal Philips Electronics (Vienna, Austria) plans to integrate its speech recognition engine with St. Paul, Minn.-based 3M Health Information Systems' suite of document creation products.
3M contends its customers will be provided with front and back end speech recognition designed to reduce document turnaround time and transcription costs, while leveraging 3M's voice management system, document creation tools and automated document distribution solutions.
According to both companies, the integration will provide 3M customers with documentation solutions and allow Philips to accelerate its growth in healthcare speech recognition.
