UC San Diego Health System Reaches HIMSS Stage 7

HIMSS Analytics announced UC San Diego Health System received its Stage 7 Award. The award represents attainment of the highest level on the EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM), which is used to track EMR progress at hospitals and health systems. The hospital will be recognized at the 2012 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition on Feb. 21-24, 2012 in Las Vegas. And as of Aug. 15, 2011, UC San Diego Health Sciences is one of 58 hospitals, or 1.1 percent of the more than 5,000 hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics Database, recognized by HIMSS Analytics with its Stage 7 Award.

UC San Diego Health System and other San Diego-based health care provider-partners received a $15 million Beacon Community Collaborative award in 2010, one of only 17 such collaboratives nationwide. The San Diego Beacon group will pilot the wide-scale use of health information technology and health information exchanges (HIE) to improve quality of care and efficiency.
