QuadraMed Corporation, a Reston, Va.-based provider of healthcare technologies and services that help turn quality care into positive financial outcomes, announced a strategic alliance with Elsevier, the Amsterdam-based publisher of scientific, technical, and medical information products and services. By combining Elsevier / MC Strategies in-depth ICD-10 e-learning suite with QuadraMed’s ICD-10 Countdown Program, health systems and hospitals nationwide will be able to better prepare for the ICD-10 2013 transition deadline, minimizing disruptions to workflow and billing.

According to a recent J.A. Thomas & Associates survey, only 50 percent of respondents have invested in staff training for ICD-10. However, more than 70 percent said investing in education and training will provide the most benefits in preparing for the transition. The joint offering from QuadraMed and Elsevier addresses provider needs by expanding QuadraMed’s ICD-10 Countdown Program to include access to Elsevier’s educational learning courses, which are available on-line for client convenience.

The robust e-learning suite, which will be offered through QuadraMed’s ICD-10 Countdown Program, offers numerous ICD-10 topics and tracts, including the following:
• ICD-10 Readiness Assessment Tool
• EduCode Coding Curriculum
• EduCode ICD-10 Essentials
• Mosby’s Medical Terminology Curriculum
• EduCode Documentation Improvement Curriculum
• Mosby’s Human Body Essentials (A&P and Pathology)
