Delray, Fla.-based Digital Records, Inc. (DigiRecs) recently used the Kodak i4000 Series Scanners to convert more than 12.5 million images from paper-based patient records into usable, discrete digital information for White-Wilson Medical Center, P.A. out of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

Beltora Capture Software, developed by DigiRecs, used images captured by Kodak Scanners to convert, manage, and integrate patient information into White-Wilson's electronic medical records (EMR) solution, Greenway's PRIMESUITE Software application.

The updated system allows more than 70 physicians to access all archived patient data electronically while using methods that mimic the former paper-based processes according to Mark T. Wiacek, director of information services at White-Wilson Medical Center.

White-Wilson Medical Group's practice disciplines include neurosurgery, pediatrics, gastroenterology, urology and other specialties. Specific medical disciplines often require and generate unique sets of information and documents. Digital Records' conversion expertise paired with the Kodak i4000 Series Scanners helps mid-sized and larger health care practices improve the management of information sources and automate related business processes to better prepare patient information for release into third-party software applications.

Medical center staff can use DigiRecs' software to achieve scanning, conversion and records management services. Beltore Workflow enables medical centers to meet compliance standards, decrease errors, simplify their overall business processes and accomplish quality control demands automatically. Digital Records' digital workflow software and capabilities make it easier for health care centers to import their information into EMR solutions, enterprise content management (ECM) systems and other health care applications.
