The Chicago-based Healthcare Information and Management Systems Sociey (HIMSS) has released an updated version of its ICD-10 PlayBook, which supplies care providers with tools for the ICD-10 transition. The updated version, being called v 2.0, includes access to a new resource - VitalVendors, an on-line, self-reported tool which is meant to aid providers in identifying those vendors who may have the capabilities to support them through the ICD-10 transition.
According to HIMSS, there were more than 30 healthcare and IT associations, and other contributions to the latest version of the ICD-10 PlayBook. The book comes with updates communications templates, education, and training materials.
“Version 2.0 responds to our members’ requests for strategic guidance on meeting the ICD-10 deadline, and for high-level risk mitigation strategies that can be harnessed by executives and senior level staff,” Juliet Santos, HIMSS senior director, said in a statement.
