Only 11 days after Cal eConnect, the non-profit organization designated by the State of California to facilitate a health information exchange, named Ted Kremer, MPH, as the organization's new president and CEO, he has decided to withdraw from that position and remain the helm of a local regional health information organization in Rochester, New York.
Laura Landry, who has been interim CEO since Carladenise Edwards, Ph.D. stepped down, will reassume the top post. “While we are disappointed with Ted’s decision, we want to assure the California health care community that Cal eConnect is continuing to move forward with its strategy for connecting California,” Don Crane, Cal eConnect Board co-chair and president and CEO of the California Association of Physician Groups, said in a statement.
At this point, Cal eConnect has not made it known whether or not Landry will be the full-time CEO going forward or if they will go through with another search. This isn’t the only major change Cal eConnect has made recently, they added a new chief technology officer, Robert M. Cothren, PhD., in November.
