ONC Launches Database to Recruit Possible HIT-FACA Workgroup Members

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has announced its developing an online database system that will allow anyone with an interest in contributing their expertise in health IT to submit their information for future consideration for Health Information Technology Federal Advisory Committee (HIT-FACA) workgroup membership. According to ONC, the current workgroups experience turnover when a new one is formed.

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has announced its developing an online database system that will allow anyone with an interest in contributing their expertise in health IT to submit their information for future consideration for Health Information Technology Federal Advisory Committee (HIT-FACA) workgroup membership. According to ONC, the current workgroups experience turnover when a new one is formed.

ONC says it will use this resource to identify potential members. Registration for possible membership can be found at the ONC’s Workgroup Application Database. The workgroups are a part of the HIT Standards Committee, which was formed through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to ONC for Health IT on standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria for the electronic exchange and use of health information.
