John Halamka to Headline Hixny Connects 2013

John Halamka, M.D., CIO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, will deliver the keynote address at Hixny Connects 2013 on Tuesday, December 3 at the New York State Museum in Albany, N.Y.

John Halamka, M.D., CIO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, will deliver the keynote address at Hixny Connects 2013 on Tuesday, December 3 at the New York State Museum in Albany, N.Y. As CIO of Deaconess, Dr. Halamka initiated an effort to share data electronically among local hospitals, which later became the foundation for future information sharing efforts among Massachusetts hospitals. In addition to his CIO responsibilities, he is chairman of the New England Healthcare Exchange Network and co-chair of the HIT Standards Committee with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT.

The event will also feature presentations by Assembly member John McDonald, III and Hixny CEO Mark McKinney as well as an Innovation Showcase. In addition to the speakers, Hixny will be unveiling the Innovation Showcase. Hixny connects 24 hospitals and about 400 primary care physicians in the state’s Capital Region and northern New York State.
