Hixny Reaches Interoperability with 10th Vendor

Hixny, a regional health information organization based in Latham, N.Y. has announced Allscripts as its 10th electronic medical record (EMR) vendor to achieve interoperability with the health information exchange (HIE).

Hixny, a regional health information organization based in Latham, N.Y. has announced Allscripts as its 10th electronic medical record (EMR) vendor to achieve interoperability with the health information exchange (HIE). Practices using Allscripts will be able to access, with patient consent, the most current clinical information on the patients they are treating through Hixny’s health information exchange. Currently, 24 hospitals and more than 400 primary care practices in 17 counties in the Capital Region and Northern New York are connected with Hixny, which represents 1.55 million patients. In addition Allscripts practices have access to discharge notifications, which can inform a physician when a patient has been discharged from a hospital, to provide follow-up care for the patient.
