Healthcare Informatics has won the American Society for Healthcare Publication Editors (ASHPE) Silver Award for Best Special Report/Section for its 2014 Tech Trends reporting.

The prestigious ASHPE award is the second straight recognition of HCI's annual Tech Trends section. It is the third straight year the publication has been recognized by ASHPE. In 2013, it won the Gold Award for Online News Coverage.
In the 2014 Tech Trends section, editors covered the policy, technical, and operational challenges and innovations pushing the industry forward. The emerging work around the FHIR standard, the push of patient-generated data into clinical decision support, clinician-to-clinician texting, analytics for reducing readmissions, and many other specific topics were written about for that section.
HCI is honored to be recognized by ASHPE for this award.
