Presence Health, a Catholic-based health system based in Chicago, has announced it is going to implement a clinical integration platform, which will let physicians and patients across its 12 hospitals and more than 100 sites of care share electronic clinical information.

The platform, a product from the Fall Church, VA-based Harris Healthcare, is an integration tool that is vendor-neutral, the company says. It will include both a patient and a physician portal. The physician’s side aggregates patient information from disparate clinical data sources and the patient side allows them to collaborate with their care team and access their health information digitally.

“One of the principal motivations behind the formation of Presence Health is to ensure a more collaborative, cost-effective, and interconnected healthcare experience for the patient and the physician,” stated Richard H. Ferrans, M.D., system vice president and chief medical officer, of clinical integration and accountable care at Presence Health.  “The Harris Clinical Integration Platform will give us the infrastructure to deliver a suite of services that will be developed in coordination with Presence physicians and adhere to the responsibility we have to our patients to deliver a better healthcare experience.”
