HIMSS cyber/data security expert named co-chair of health IT standards committee

Lisa Gallagher, Vice President, Technology Solutions, HIMSS North America, and Arien Malec of RelayHealth Clinical Solutions, have been appointed co-chairs for the Health IT Standards Committee (HITSC), a Federal Advisory Committee to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT established by the HITECH Act of 2009.  Gallagher previously served as a data security expert to the HITSC, in addition to serving as Chair of HITSC’s Data Provenance Task Force and as Co-Chair of the Privacy and Security Work Group.

In her leadership role at HIMSS, Lisa A. Gallagher, BSEE, CISM, CPHIMS, FHIMSS, serves as Vice President, Technology Solutions, for HIMSS North America.  She is responsible for the non-profit’s work in business and financial systems, privacy and security, cloud computing, identity management and other technology challenges.
