Five-to-10 percent of eligible professionals (EPs) and eligible hospitals (EHs) will receive a letter from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) that states they’ve been randomly selected to be audited to ensure they met all the requirements for Meaningful Use. In this podcast, with Impact Advisors principal, Laura Kreofsky, we’ll look at what provider organizations should do if/when this happens.
Kreofsky explains what providers should know before that letter comes, what those auditors are going to look for when reviewing EPs and EHs’ meaningful use data, and why it’s important to have one voice of leadership presiding over the audit. She also discusses why it’s important to be in frequent contact with an EHR vendor during this time period and the best advice she has ever received from a meaningful use auditor.
