On February 13, New Jersey-based talent company iCIMS announced its February workforce report, concluding that healthcare jobs are in demand at the start of the new year.
The application volume for healthcare roles increased 24 percent month over month in January and is 9 percent higher than in January 2024, per the press release by iCIMS.
Activity for overall job openings and applications surged in January; however, hiring has been down 5 percent from this time last year.
After pulling back on opening roles at the end of 2024, healthcare job openings rose 25 percent. Healthcare jobs are also getting filled faster. Last year saw the lowest average time to fill in at least five years.
“While we’re seeing movement in hiring activity, uncertainty still lingers across the labor market,” Laura Coccaro, chief people officer with iCIMS, said in a statement. “Employers are opening more jobs, and candidates are showing renewed interest, but the question remains —will this momentum continue, or will hesitation return? HR leaders will need to remain agile and prepare for potential shifting hiring trends in the months ahead.”
