HIMSS Conference attendance leaps 21.5 percent at HIMSS23, taking place this year in Chicago, over HIMSS22 last year in Orlando

As of Tuesday morning, April 18, total attendee registration at HIMSS23, the annual conference of the Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society, had reached above 35,000, according to HIMSS Media Relations, with possibly several thousand additional attendees registering on Tuesday. This year, the conference is being held at the vast McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.

That figure compares with a final total of 28, 815 individuals who attended HIMSS22, which took place in Orlando in March 2022, and represents a 21.5-percent increase in attendance over last year’s figure. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the U.S. and the world in March 2020 and caused the total cancellation of HIMSS20, HIMSS19, held in Orlando, had achieved an attendance figure of over 43,000.

HIMSS Media Relations also confirmed on Tuesday morning that 1,000 vendors are exhibiting this year.
