On Dec. 15, the Orem, Utah-based KLAS published its “2011 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services” report, ranking the best-performing healthcare IT vendors in more than 100 market segments, based on ratings from over 18,000 interviews with healthcare providers.
The Verona, Wis.-based Epic Systems Corporation once again won important first-place rankings. Among several first-place finishes, Epic placed first in the “acute care EMR” category, with its EpicCare Inpatient EMR product, while it also won the “ambulatory EMR (over 75 physicians)” category, with its EpicCare Ambulatory EMR solution.
The winners for first place in the 11-75 physicians and the 1-10 physicians ambulatory EMR categories were the Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth, for its athenaClinicals product, and the North Kingstown, R.I.-based Amazing Charts, for its Amazing Charts product, respectively.
Other vendors placing first place were the Burlington, Mass.-based Dimensional Insight, for its “The Diver Solution,” in the business intelligence/reporting category; the Houston-based Digisonics’ DigiView solution, in the cardiology IS category, and McKesson Corporation’s Paragon solution, in the “community HIS” category. The Malvern, Pa.-based Siemens Healthcare won the laboratory category’s first place ranking, with its “Novius Lab” solution, while the Troy, Mich.-based DR Systems took first place in the PACS area, with its Unity PACS product.
In the services area, the Kansas City-based Cerner Corporation won the application hosting category, while the Naperville, Ill.-based Impact Advisors won the “clinical implementation-principal” category, and the Punta Gorda, Fla.-based Innovative Healthcare Solutions Inc. won the “clinical implementation-supportive” category.
