Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Ingenix Consulting unveiled Clinical Performance Management Services, a program that it says helps hospitals, health systems and physicians leverage underutilized clinical data to identify and remove barriers to better patient health and financial performance.

The company says Clinical Performance Management Services provides tools for hospitals to develop key performance metrics, benchmark against national trends and improve processes. Specific capabilities include:

  • Policy analysis, evaluation and strategy services, including financial and economic analysis of health system programs, regulatory proposals, payment adequacy and evaluation of plan redesign.

  • EHR optimization services to help clients improve clinical efficiency and achieve “meaningful use.”

  • Organizational performance- and outcomes-improvement strategies that can help providers enhance patient outcomes and meet new government and commercial payer reporting requirements.

  • Information systems security audit readiness assessment to ensure client health IT systems meet Department of Health & Human Services security standards.

New IT Staffing Company Aims to Meet Implementation Demand

Recently launched Source88 (Orlando, Fla.) is offering what it says is a novel idea to hospitals in need of IT implementation staff: trained professionals at $88 an hour.

The company specializes in providing hospitals with highly trained healthcare IT consultants specializing in implementation of Cerner Millennium, eClinicalWorks and Allscripts, in addition to project administration, building/testing, go-live support, research and training, it says.

According to the company, it deploys expertly trained and focused team members who immerse themselves in complex, detailed engagements. The company's founders are Lindsey Jarrell, a former health system CIO and Scott Kizer, a former healthcare attorney.

SunGard Debuts Advanced Crisis Communications Technology

SunGard Availability Services (Wayne, Pa,) introduced N⊠tiFind for Hospitals to enable hospitals to locate, inform and coordinate responses with doctors, nurses, support staff and public safety officials in disasters.

According to the company, N⊠tiFind provides a comprehensive, automated approach that helps link hospital operations and IT staff through communications to boost operational resiliency and recover more quickly from business and IT disruptions.

N⊠tiFind can be used as a standalone notification solution or as a complement to SunGard's LDRPS for Hospitals business continuity planning software - avoiding the need to maintain two separate data sources. When integrated, LDRPS data updates are automatically transferred to N⊠tiFind, keeping critical contact data up to date, says the company.

Pharmacy OneSource Launches Checklist App for Compliance, Safety

Bellevue, Wash.-based Pharmacy OneSource, Inc., software-as-a-service provider to more than 1,300 hospitals in the United States, announced today the launch of VeriForm, a web-based hospital checklist documentation and reporting system.

According to the company, VeriForm is a checklist management system that helps hospitals document and report on compliance and patient safety issues throughout their facility utilizing multiple forms. VeriForm can be used to assist meeting Joint Commission standards for storage of medications in nursing units, clinics, carts, and operating rooms and help document patient safety processes taking place before surgeries or other critical events

Managers can run real-time reports to easily see which forms have been completed and monitor trends in compliance by hospital area or criteria, the company says, adding that VeriForm has fully-integrated email capability.
