Vitera Healthcare Solutions, a Tampa, Fla.-based provider of ambulatory electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management solutions, has announced that Kermit Randa will join the company’s leadership team as executive vice president, sales and marketing.

“We are very pleased to welcome Kermit to our team,” Matthew Hawkins, CEO of Vitera Healthcare Solutions, said in a statement. “The future holds endless opportunity for Vitera, and Kermit’s experience will be invaluable as we continue to advance our technology platform and deepen our commitment to provide the best customer experience in the industry.”

Randa most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at Surgical Information Systems (SIS), which specializes in anesthesia and perioperative software solutions. Prior to his time at SIS, Randa worked in leadership roles with various companies including EMC Corporation and Siemens Healthcare. Currently, he is a board member of the Georgia Chapter of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and participates on two mHIMSS Taskforce groups.

“As we move toward new payment structures and paradigms for care, coordination and collaboration, the battle for improving population health and reducing overall cost will be won or lost in the ambulatory care setting,” Randa said in a statement. “Having great tools combined with great data will enable our physicians and caregivers to truly make the most of this new reality.”

This year, Vitera has added more than 300 individuals to its workforce, as well as invested heavily in developing new products. Vitera introduced Vitera Stat, a comprehensive, cloud-based practice management and EHR solution, certified for meaningful use. In addition, Vitera released Vitera Intergy Mobile, which provides secure access to critical clinical and practice information from a user’s mobile device.
