According to seven different surveys of various end-users conducted by the New York-based Black Book Market Research, eight health record (EHR) vendors stand above the crowded pack of 550 qualified systems and nearly 900 EHR competitors when it comes to satisfaction.

Those vendors, according to Black Book, are as followed:

> Vitera
> Practice Fusion
> Care360 Quest
> Cerner
> Greenway
> GE Healthcare
> ChartLogic
> athenacare

The Black Book report is a follow-up assessment on the status of EHR users, a report that indicated that they are currently struggling with deal-breaking dissatisfaction with their vendors.  In this latest revealed survey, which was comprised of ambulatory physician practice administrators/financial officers and IT staff members/CIOs, 81 percent of respondents were on track to replace their original EHR solution within the next twelve months.

The vendors above were mentioned as the best replacement systems. Approximately, 880 replacement market EHR users were surveyed from over 16,000 original in the replacement mode and analyzed the aggregated healthcare records professionals.

"Regularly, at least two of these eight vendors were on the short lists of 88 percent of the current replacement market buyers surveyed," Doug Brown, managing partner of Black Book, said in a statement. According to Black Book, Kareo, NextGen, Allscripts, McKesson, AmazingCharts, and eClinicalWorks, were next after those eight, receiving top rankings in six of seven surveys.
