TriZetto Corp., the Englewood, Colo.-based care management, administration, and billing software vendor, could be the latest major healthcare IT company to be sold, a Reuters report indicates.

The report says that TriZetto's owner, private equity group, Apax Partner, is seeking a buyer for the company. The equity firm is looking for $3 billion including debt, according to the report from Reuters.

Apax bought TriZetto in 2008 for $1.4 billion. Since, the company has kept a steady presence on Healthcare Informatics' top 100 health IT companies, coming in at 16th this year.

The report comes a few weeks after Cerner bought Siemens' health IT division for $1.3 billion.  Rumors that Siemens wanted to sell its division was reported by Reuters, a few weeks before the transaction happened.
