Privia Health Lands First Health System Customer

Florida-based Health First will collaborate with Privia to reduce costs, achieve better outcomes

Health First, an integrated delivery network in Brevard County, Fla., has partnered with Privia Health, a physician practice management and population health technology company.

The nonprofit HealthFirst is the first health system to join the Privia organization.

In 2007 Privia began working with independent physicians to deliver a patient-centered wellness program. In 2012-2013, the Privia team worked in partnership with a steering committee of physicians to design Privia Medical Group, a practice model designed to help physicians remain in private practice and to succeed in value-based care. Privia Medical Group’s first practice location launched in January 2014. In late 2014, Privia became a portfolio company of Brighton Health Group, a Stamford, Conn., healthcare enterprise.

Since then, Privia’s national physician organization has grown to more than 2,000 providers. The company says it offers partners a proprietary cloud-based technology platform and an innovative approach to patient engagement and physician-driven wellness.

Last year Privia Medical Group-Georgia announced that its accountable care organization (ACO), Privia Quality Network-Georgia, achieved a significant bonus in its first year participating in the CMS Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP). The group earned a 6.1 percent savings rate, equating to more than $10 million in shared savings, and received a quality score of 100 percent.

Health First includes health insurance plans, hospitals, a multi-specialty medical group and outpatient and wellness services. “We’re focused on expanding our state-of-the-art clinical care delivery while creating healthier patient populations,” said Frank Letherby, CEO of Health First Medical Group, in a prepared statement. “Privia’s wealth of tools, technology, and expertise serve the needs of our patients and providers, and will positively impact the quality and continuity of care we provide.”
