McKesson to Acquire MED3000

San Francisco-based health IT giant, McKesson, has reached an agreement to acquire the Pittsburgh-based healthcare revenue management and technology services company, MED3000, the two firms jointly recently announced. According to McKesson, the acquisition should be completed in the next few months, subject to the necessary regulatory clearances.

According to McKesson, the acquisition should be completed in the next few months, subject to the necessary regulatory clearances.

McKesson says the acquisition will help complete its medical billing and practice management service offerings. MED3000, which has an approximate customer base that includes more than 10,000 physicians, 15,000 technology users, numerous hospitals and health systems, physician networks, and state and local municipalities, also has an EHR, services in population health management, analytics, and much more.

"McKesson and MED3OOO share a commitment to help customers navigate growing healthcare complexity and achieve their full potential," Pat Leonard, senior vice president and general manager of McKesson’s revenue management solutions division said in a statement. "We are excited about the opportunity to combine best practices and superior technologies to help providers and other customers improve their operations and achieve better business health as part of our Better Health 2020 strategy."

No other details on the detail were disclosed.
