LIVE FROM RSNA: Number of Vendors Exhibiting Holds Steady This Year, in Smaller Space

Sept. 22, 2014
The number of vendors exhibiting at the RSNA Conference was virtually unchanged from last year, but vendors are exhibiting in a smaller space overall

According to spokespeople at the Radiological Society of North America, the number of exhibitors at RSNA 2013 has largely held steady in comparison to the number exhibiting at RSNA 2012. This year, 665 vendors--including both modality vendors and health information technology vendors (and vendors with both categories of offerings)--are exhibiting at Chicago's McCormick Place Convention Center. Last year in 2012, 652 vendors exhibited. Of the 664 exhibiting this year, 105 are doing so for the first time, a jump over the 90 first-time exhibitors last year. However, the floor space that is being taken up by exhibitors is smaller, at 437,975 square feet, compared to 448,000 square feet last year. Visually, the impact has been different as well, as all exhibits are being housed in the North and South Halls of McCormick Place, whereas last year, a number of vendor exhibits were lodged in the Lakeside Center (east) building within the vast McCormick Place complex, one of the largest in the world, at 2,670,000 square feet in size.
