The danger of publishing such a list is leaving someone out, which, of course, I have. To the dozens of other folks who supported our editorial efforts this year I thank you as well for your diligence and for your contributions. I look forward to working with you all in 2009.

Now to introduce our newest Editorial Advisory Board members: John Halamka, M.D., is CIO of CareGroup Healthcare System and Dean for Technology at Harvard Medical School; C. Martin Harris, M.D., is CIO at Cleveland Clinic where GoogleHealth was piloted; Jonathan Teich, M.D., is CMIO at Elsevier and David Miller is Chief Security Officer at Covisint. We welcome them to HMT and look forward to their contributions.

In 2009, HMT’s electronic newsletter and Web site will continue to evolve toward true portal status. Future upgrades include RSS feeds, Webcasts, podcasts, blogs, job search and reader’s comments tools, interactive surveys and more. We’re dedicated to providing a unique and informative experience for HMT’s readers that doesn’t simply mirror the print magazine but provides valuable additional content. Your suggestions are always welcomed.

Eric Hoffer, best selling author of “The True Believer” and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1983 said, “In times of change, learners inherit the Earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.” America is changing and healthcare is at the forefront of a rapidly expanding wave. Learn to surf or you’ll wipeout.

Best wishes to all! See you next year.
