General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital Implements CliniComp Solution

Dec. 2, 2009

SAN DIEGO – Dec. 1, 2009 – CliniComp Intl., a global provider of clinical documentation systems, announced today that General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital (GLWACH) implemented its Essentris® inpatient clinical documentation solution throughout all clinical areas.

“CliniComp’s processes from project management to training to launch were flawless, enabling us to install the Essentris EMR throughout our facility in just four months,” said Veronica Robinson, Chief, Clinical Systems Branch at GLWACH. “The company has been and continues to be extremely responsive to our needs. We look forward to using the system to give clinicians access to the up-to-date patient data they need to make better treatment decisions, coordinate care and improve quality.”

Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.-based GLWACH is using Essentris® CPOE (Computerized Provider Order Entry) and Essentris® GDR (Global Data Repository), a comprehensive patient encounter reporting tool, as part of the overall system deployment.

“The enterprise-wide deployment demonstrates the effectiveness of our implementation methodology and our commitment to delivering outstanding service and support to clients,” said Alan Portela, CliniComp’s president. “We are proud to play a role in helping the DoD deliver the high-quality and safe care our soldiers deserve.”

The deployment of the Essentris EMR at GLWACH was part of a contract DoD recently awarded CliniComp to provide clinical documentation solutions to 36 military treatment facilities (MTFs) over the next 24 months. The department selected GLWACH along with David Grant USAF Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, Calif., and Naval Hospital Bremerton (Wash.) as the first MTFs to receive the Essentris system.

CliniComp’s Essentris system is a multidisciplinary suite of solutions comprised of intelligent, inpatient clinical documentation; computerized provider order entry (CPOE); data repository; and decision support tools for hospitals with both low and high acute care specialties and complex environments, including MTFs, academic medical centers and integrated delivery networks. The solution streamlines clinical workflows, simplifies access to unified patient data and helps organizations build a true longitudinal patient health record.
