Jan. 7, 2010

Auburn, California / Miami, Florida / PRNewswire / January 6, 2010.  TCS Healthcare Technologies (TCS), an industry leader in the development of care management software applications, announced today that AvMed Health Plans has purchased the Acuity Advanced Care (ACUITY) platform.  AvMed Health Plans, one of Florida’s oldest and largest not-for-profit health plans, will ‘go live’ with ACUITY later this year.

“After reviewing a myriad of different software vendors, AvMed determined that ACUITY was the best fit for our organization.  The care management software solution is comprehensive and dynamic for AvMed’s clinical and business needs,” remarks Dr. Kirk Cianciolo, AvMed’s Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer.  He adds further, “ACUITY will assume a central role in how we optimize AvMed’s clinical workflows for the future.  ACUITY will provide us a comprehensive platform to fully integrate and utilize information to best serve our members.  The TCS application will help us replace or integrate over 10 information platforms that AvMed has historically relied on.”

Rob Pock, TCS CEO and Founder, notes that “TCS looks forward to supporting AvMed’s mission through their quality-based, health plan offering. TCS has been working closely with clients like AvMed for over 25 years.  ACUITY is one of the most dynamic care management software applications available on the market today that will empower AvMed to take its care management program to the next level.”

Sandy Brower-Stenger, RN, Senior Director, Medical Operations, comments “AvMed is working closely with TCS staff to implement the ACUITY platform, which will enhance our ability to better care for individual health plan members, along with providing dynamic information back to our health plan partners.”
