Jan. 8, 2010

RESTON, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– QuadraMed® Corporation (NASDAQ:QDHC), a leading provider of healthcare information technologies and services that help turn quality care into positive financial outcomes, today announced that Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center has selected QuadraMed’s Enterprise Scheduling™ (QES) solution to schedule hospital ancillary procedures and accelerate reimbursements. Named as one of “America’s Best Hospitals” in five categories by U.S. News & World Report in 2009, Wake Forest Baptist will implement QuadraMed’s enterprise scheduling solution to automate workflow for improved clinician and patient satisfaction, as well as increased organizational productivity.

The rules-based QES system enables healthcare organizations to centralize and streamline their patient access processes. QES features QuadraMed’s advanced identity management technology to ensure accurate patient identification at the earliest opportunity to avoid downstream errors and rework. Additionally, the solution provides automated call-back reminders for patient visits and upfront medical-necessity verification to accelerate reimbursements.

“QuadraMed’s scheduling solution will help us centralize ancillary procedure scheduling functions and optimize our staff utilization for better delivery of patient care,” said Joe Foster, associate director of information services at Wake Forest Baptist. “Radiology will be the first major ancillary implemented, with other ancillary departments to follow in a phased roll-out. Our previous experience implementing QuadraMed solutions with our existing applications was very positive, so we were confident that QES would easily integrate with our existing ambulatory and acute care systems.”

Wake Forest Baptist’s integrated health system includes North Carolina Baptist Hospital and Wake Forest University Health Sciences, which consists of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Wake Forest University Physicians. With 22 affiliate hospitals, the award-winning healthcare organization is responsible for more than 1,000 acute care, rehabilitation, long-term, and psychiatric care beds, as well as outpatient services, and community health and information centers.
