ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 3 — Inova Alexandria Hospital, of Alexandria, Va., purchased a CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution System for a new wing of its emergency department from X-Ray Visions of Springfield, Va. X-Ray Visions is one of the leading value added resellers for Carestream Health’s medical imaging equipment in the Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. areas.
The DRX-Evolution includes a gull wing wall stand that offers six-axis motion as well as tilt and swing positioning to enable cross table exams of patients on gurneys. At Inova Alexandria Hospital, the system will be configured with a rail that runs behind table so the wall stand Bucky can be used for cross table lateral and other complex exams. The detector can also be removed for tabletop extremity and other exams.
The hospital previously installed a CARESTREAM DR 7500 system in its general radiology department and also purchased a DIRECTVIEW Elite CR system to support portable exams. The company’s CR and DR platforms include the same user-friendly, touch-screen operator interface for increased productivity and ease of use.
Inova Alexandria Hospital is part of Inova Health System, a not-for-profit healthcare system based in Northern Virginia that consists of hospitals and other health services, including emergency- and urgent-care centers, home care, nursing homes, mental health and blood donor services, and wellness classes.
