Tri-City Medical Center Partner Builds New, Community-Focused Web Presence

March 5, 2010

Cedar Rapids, IA – March 3, 2010 – Tri-City Medical Center (TCMC) selected Geonetric, an online solutions provider for the healthcare industry, to build a Web site that helps the 397-bed hospital better serve their community and patients and also positions them to compete with larger health systems in the area. As a community-owned and operated organization, TCMC needs a Web presence that facilitates communication with the Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista, CA residents they serve.

TCMC’s new site launched today and showcases updated content, user-friendly navigation and impressive design. It was essential that TCMC move to a platform that allows their team to easily manage and update content. Geonetric’s VitalSite® content management software has exceeded expectations.

“We wanted a partner who understood the healthcare industry and Geonetric delivers,” says Jeff Segall, Director of Business Development and Marketing at TCMC. “Geonetric helped us assess our needs and then counseled us on the best ways to reach our goals. They didn’t give us a one-size-fits-all solution, but rather created a site that suits us uniquely. The new site helps share our story and meets the needs of our diverse audiences – from our Board of Directors, to our community, to our patients and donors.”

The Tri-City Hospital Foundation connects the community to the hospital and supports many of the hospital’s most mission-critical facilities, so it is important to showcase the foundation online in a unique way. The foundation’s section of the Web site has its own design, which provides the foundation with the ability to promote its services and events while still aligning with the overarching TCMC brand.

The new TCMC site features functionality that easily allows users to find doctors and services. It also offers pre-registration, online donations, wait time, a press center, wellness tools, volunteer forms and a district resident form – which allows residents to join the Tri-City Healthcare District Resident Benefit Program. In addition, the site showcases calendar and event functionality for both the hospital and the foundation, including online registration.

TCMC and Geonetric are already hard at work on the second phase of their project, which will include adding clinical trials, online bill payment and appointment request functionality, as well as adding patient portal features.
