Health System Selects UltiPro for Unified Human Capital Management

March 17, 2010

WESTON, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), the leading provider of unified, end-to-end human capital management (HCM) SaaS solutions in North America, announced today that Allegiance Health, a community-owned and locally governed health system in Michigan, has selected UltiPro for comprehensive HCM — including human resources, payroll, recruitment, onboarding, and performance management functionality — delivered through Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

Previously, Allegiance Health was using an on-premise application that didn’t offer the Web-based feature sets or SaaS convenience that the HR team wanted to improve efficiencies and employee service, enhance data reliability and accessibility, and streamline administration and technical support. The organization chose Ultimate’s SaaS solution in December 2009.

Companies like Allegiance Health that switch from on-premise software to UltiPro through SaaS retain full control of and access to their human capital data while experiencing the advantages of a SaaS solution with no internal requirements for IT maintenance. SaaS eliminates a company’s need for in-house IT support as well as expenses related to upgrading software or system hardware. With full control over its HR and payroll processes, Allegiance Health can operate as a more streamlined organization and benefit from UltiPro’s comprehensive recruitment-through-retirement capabilities.

“Ultimate is an excellent match for our HR technology strategy and our organizational culture. In particular, Ultimate’s end-to-end HR suite, SaaS offering, and employee-focused culture were the major decision drivers,” said Sam Buttigieg, HRIS manager for Allegiance Health.

By unifying all HR functions in one solution with UltiPro, customers significantly reduce duplicate entry and eliminate data-feed errors among applications — resulting in increased savings and increased productivity for the organization. With this boost in efficiencies, many HR departments find that they can shift from primarily spending their time on administrative functions to implementing strategic HCM programs that benefit the business.

“Our main goal is to transform our HR department from a team with a transactional, tactical focus into a strategic business partner that is adding value across the organization. We believe we can achieve this with UltiPro,” said Buttigieg.
