News Facts
- Centegra Health System is using the time and attendance and employee scheduling solutions from Kronos to completely automate the processes and gain real-time visibility into labor data. The improved control over data has enabled the organization to eliminate agency use and reduce overtime by 30 percent, resulting in a $1.6 million reduction in labor costs.
- Centegra Health System is committed to developing a relationship-based care model and the use of agency nurses is sometimes a barrier to this form of patient care. With Kronos, the organization can offer its patients a more personalized care model. Additionally, fair and balanced schedules generated by Kronos enable improved employee engagement.
- Prior to Kronos, Centegra Health System used paper-based schedules that were inefficient and not aligned with patient demand. When it came to filling shifts, equitable practices were not consistently applied creating an undesirable perception of favoritism, and when open shifts could not be filled, the organization relied on agency staff. Agency use was as frequent as 2,000 hours per month or roughly 10 full-time employees.
- Previously, there was a lack of consistent enforcement and adherence to pay policies and practices even though a consistent set of policies existed.
- Through enhancements in employee empowerment, Kronos is helping Centegra Health System in its pursuit of Magnet designation, a recognition bestowed by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center (ANCC) to hospitals that satisfy a set of criteria designed to measure the strength and quality of nursing.
