NEWTON, Mass., August 3, 2010 — Wisconsin’s Security Health Plan has licensed components of McKesson’s integrated suite of Total Coordinated Care solutions to centralize all of its medical management services. The HMO will implement the products CareEnhance Clinical Management Software (CCMS), CareEnhance Disease Monitor and Clear Coverage and will expand its use of InterQual Criteria to help meet its quality and cost management goals.
Security Health Plan, an 188,000-member regional HMO, wanted to centralize its various medical management services, including disease management (DM), case management (CM) and utilization management (UM), to streamline processes and member interactions while enhancing efficiency. To reach these goals, it needed to provide care managers with a single, comprehensive view of each member. Security Health Plan engaged McKesson to integrate these care programs and provide a composite, holistic member view.
The Total Coordinated Care suite combines McKesson’s InterQual Criteria, CCMS care management work flow software, Clear Coverage point-of-care decision support, and Disease Monitor disease identification and monitoring tool, to provide more coordinated care management. The integrated approach eliminates existing CM, UM and DM silos. Payers are better able to address gaps in care coordination, eliminate duplicative processes and engage members and providers.
