Eisenhower Medical Center (Rancho Mirage, Calif.) and HealthEast Care System (St. Paul, Minn.) have been named winners of McKesson’s 2010 Distinguished Achievement Award, an annual program recognizing organizations’ outstanding use of McKesson solutions. Selected by an independent panel of judges considered experts in the field of healthcare IT use, each winner will receive a $5,000 grant from McKesson to the charity or foundation of their choice.
Each year, McKesson’s Distinguished Achievement Award winners raise the bar for what it means to deliver outstanding healthcare, and this year is no different. Our winning customers have seen significant results in the areas of medication safety and patient flow. Specific results include:
- Eisenhower’s reduction in antibiotic costs by $1.2 million annually, development of antibiotic usage protocols and improved documentation of Medicare patients.
- HealthEast’s 63% reduction in ambulance diversion hours, decreased ED wait times and 36% improvement in ED patient satisfaction.
