Greenway named top innovator at Health IT Leadership Summit

Dec. 19, 2013

Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc. has received its latest recognition for industry innovation and leadership as the winner of the 2013 Intel Innovation Award.

Presented at the annual Health IT Leadership Summit in Atlanta, Greenway’s award recognizes the care-delivery breakthroughs afforded by its PrimeMOBILE app for Windows 8. PrimeMOBILE provides caregivers with secure, mobile access to patient information housed in the Greenway PrimeSUITE electronic health record solution to guide care delivery from virtually any location.

The Health IT Leadership Summit was founded in 2010 by the Georgia Dept. of Economic Development, the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Technology Association of Georgia’s Health Society to bring together leaders from across the healthcare continuum to discuss how the industry can enable better care delivery at lower costs to more people. The event’s innovation award, sponsored by Intel, recognizes companies developing leading-edge health IT technology and unique approaches to improving health and the healthcare delivery process.

Information Anywhere, Anytime to Improve Health

“We’re extremely proud to receive this award recognizing Greenway’s innovation and its benefits for our customers,” said Johnathan Samples, Greenway executive vice president of innovation. “Healthcare is an increasingly agile industry, with care delivered in many locations, including doctor’s offices, clinics and hospitals. PrimeMOBILE gives physicians secure access to patient information virtually anywhere, anytime for better coordinated care and more informed, timely decisions to improve their patients’ health. It’s all part of Greenway’s commitment to help improve the health and well-being of the entire population while enhancing provider efficiency.”

PrimeMOBILE enables providers to securely access rich patient data from virtually any Apple iOS-, Google Android- or Microsoft Windows-based smart tablet or phone.

“PrimeMOBILE enables us to more effectively and efficiently deliver care at every point where a patient might be,” said Josephine Young, MD, MPH, chief operating officer of Pediatric Associates in Bellevue, WA, which collaborated with Greenway, Intel and Microsoft in development of the Windows 8 version of PrimeMOBILE. “The new mobile technologies let us be much more efficient and easily transition between caring for one patient and moving on to serve others.”

Dr. Young and her colleagues are featured in a short video produced by Intel and Microsoft posted to Greenway’s YouTube Channel.
