March 8, 2014

On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, the Senate Committee on Finance, under the leadership of new Chairman Ron Wyden (D-OR), heard testimony from U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew regarding the President’s fiscal year 2015 budget, released this week.

Senator Wyden assumed leadership of the Committee last month when former Chairman Max Baucus became the U.S. Ambassador to China.  Among the priority issues identified by the new Chairman in his opening statement  was a fix for SGR physician payments under the Medicare system.

On Thursday, March 6, 2014, the House Committee on Ways and Means, led by Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) also heard testimony from Secretary Lew.

The House Ways and Means Committee will hear from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, regarding the details of the President’s HHS budget.
