WEDI, an authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in healthcare information exchange, announced the resignation of the organization’s President and CEO, Devin Jopp, Ed.D.
“The Board expresses its appreciation to Dr. Jopp for his service as CEO over the past four years and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Jean Narcisi, Chair of the Board of Directors, WEDI. “WEDI remains steadfast in its commitment to improving the quality of healthcare through effective and efficient information exchange, and we look forward to a new year of growth, innovation and collaboration with our members.
Among the many accomplishments of WEDI during his tenure, Dr. Jopp coordinated the development of the 2013 WEDI Report, which serves as an industry consensus roadmap for the next generation of healthcare data exchange. Additionally, Dr. Jopp helped facilitate the creation of the “virtual clipboard”, an industry initiative created to automate the typically paper-intensive check-in process at clinical care centers.
“It has been a true pleasure serving WEDI and its incredible members over the past four years,” said Dr. Jopp. “As I look ahead, I remain extremely excited about the future of the organization and the important role that WEDI plays in promoting the effective use of health information technology.”
The WEDI Board of Directors has formed a search committee to identify a replacement for Dr. Jopp.
