Patty Lavely is senior vice president and CIO at Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC), a 530-bed academic medical center based in Savannah, Ga. Last year, Lavely was named CIO of the Year by the Georgia CIO Leadership Association. Recently, HCI Associate Editor Kate Gamble had a chance to speak with Lavely about her achievement as well as her plans for MUMC.
One-on-One with Penn School of Nursing Dean Afaf Meleis and Associate Professor Kathryn Bowles
The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing recently partnered with Eclipsys to bring clinical expertise into the curriculum. HCI Editor-in-Chief Anthony Guerra talked with Afaf Meleis, Ph.D., DrPS (hon), FAAN, the Margaret Bond Simon Dean of Nursing; and Associate Professor of Nursing Kathryn Bowles, Ph.D., R.N., FAAN, about what the deal will mean both to students and to the entire industry.
Winchester Hospital (Winchester, Mass.) is an acute care, 229-bed facility that is currently implementing CPOE in compliance with a statewide initiative. Recently, HCI Associate Editor Kate Huvane Gamble spoke with Greeley the implications involved in a significant roll-out, particularly for a smaller hospital.
Carolyn Scanlan is president of the Harrisburg, Pa.-based Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania.
