Privately held Medicity, Inc., Salt Lake City, has acquired Park City Solution’s iServices Group. The new company, which will operate as Medicity, combines Medicity’s experience in large-scale, complex integrations with Park City Solutions’ portal expertise. According to the company, sales and support for all existing product lines will continue.

In an attempt to add to its suite of revenue cycle management solutions, Dallas-based Accuro Healthcare Solutions, Inc. has acquired CodeCorrect, LLC of Yakima, Wash., which offers Web-based hospital and physician reimbursement coding process tools.
RHIOs Reach Out
Funded by participating physicians, Denver’s iPN Avista electronic medical record program has linked physicians to underserved Medicare and Medicaid patients. The iPN Avista network links Medicare, Medicaid and uninsured patients to a variety of health providers including private practices and community health organizations to reduce paperwork and provide more seamless patient care.
UPMC Combines with CombineNet
Aiming to cut costs and raise quality, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) has joined forces with CombineNet of Pittsburgh. CombineNet produces a proprietary, patented combinatorial optimization engine that produces disparate data analyzing scenarios for quick decision-making. The two Pittsburgh organizations have partnered to create Expressive Commerce for a flexible sourcing framework solution.
Fax Forward
In a plan to provide fax integration for medical offices and hospitals, Portland-based FaxBack Inc., network fax server and fax software for VoIP environment developer, has partnered with Montvale, N.J.’s SRS Software, a healthcare document management designer. Customers can now have critical medical information — such as patient medical prescription, records and charts — faxed from within SRS’ Freedom Chart Manager product, according to the company.
PanGo and Emergin Are a Go
Tapping into hospitals that have already made their campuses Wi-Fi hotspots, PanGo and Emergin have come together. Framingham, Ma.-based PanGo Networks, Inc. and Boca Raton, Fla.-based Emergin partnered to leverage RFID technologies to pinpoint the exact location of critical clinical assets and deliver the information to a staff of caregivers in a location-ware, multi-channel notification solution.
Look Out — Qualis Got Outlook
Seattle-based healthcare quality improvement organization, Qualis Health, has acquired nationwide health information systems and operations improvement consulting firm, Outlook Associates, Inc. Outlook Associates will be a fully owned subsidiary of Qualis Health and will operate from offices in Seattle and in Tustin, Calif. The acquisition enhances Qualis’ core competencies in quality improvement and medical management by leveraging Outlook Associates’ expertise in healthcare information systems and operations, according to the company.
EMC Bulks Up
Hopkinton, Mass.-based EMC has acquired two businesses aimed at extending its information storage and management business lines. Internosis adds specialty in IT strategy, infrastructure and managed services for Microsoft environments. The acquisition of Acxiom brings grid software to enhance EMC’s grid incubation business unit, according to the company. EMC plans to integrate Acxiom’s systems, software, services and data into a single information grid infrastructure, which EMC can offer as an enterprise deployment product, it says.
