Avanet Launches Healthcare Practice
Tempe, Ariz.-based Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, is launching HealthPath, a healthcare practice dedicated to helping value-added resellers, independent software vendors system builders and OEMs take advantage of opportunities in the healthcare market.Avnet HealthPath brings together the components critical to serving the healthcare market, according to Tony Vottima, vice president, business development, Avnet Technology Solutions.

MyMedical Records.com and MedicAlert Join Forces
Los Angeles-based MyMedicalRecords.com, an online provider of consumer-controlled medical records and docu-ment storage, and MedicAlert, a provider of personal health records, have signed an agreement whereby MedicAlert will make MyMedicalRecords.com's digitized record keeping services available to its members.In teaming up with MyMedicalRecords.com, MedicAlert will be offering its members an online emergency medical information service that provides secure access to a MedicAlert member's medical records and documents in one place. Access can be gained from any Internet-connected computer using proprietary technology that exceeds HIPAA guidelines for safety and security, according to the company.
