For November, we plan on doing a special report on PACS issues. Below see the outline -- I'm open to comments (positive and negative)

Imaging Special Report
Topic 1: Are you a healthcare technology professional who has been tasked with integrating your organization’s PACS/imaging strategy into your EMR/advanced clinical information systems? Have you already begun flowing images into your EMR and across your clinical enterprise?

Topic 2: Have you recently partnered with your organization’s clinician leaders in selecting a PACS system that satisfies their needs — and plays well within your IT architecture? What’s the best way to make sure everyone winds up happy with the final result? How do you pick a system when radiology, oncology and cardiology may all want different bells and whistles?

Topic 3: Are you using PACS to support the provision of radiology services to your community? Have such services become a significant source of revenue? Are you planning to use third-party teleradiology services that provide off-shore radiology interpretation services?

Topic 4: What’s the best way to figure out how much changing or upgrading a PACS/RIS system will really cost you? When it’s budget time, how do you present to the rest of the C-suite what you’ll need to get the job done, not just for the initial costs, but over the lifetime of the system? How best to structure the deal with your vendor, and how best to negotiate and develop appropriate SLAs?

Apart from the PACS package --- feel free to throw any story ideas my way.
