The University of Michigan Health System (Ann Arbor) is deploying McKesson’s Horizon Medical Imaging picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
By implementing the system — which can manage large data sets with adaptive image loading and 3D workstation integration — the three-hospital academic center expects to improve the efficiency of its radiologists, who currently conduct approximately 550,000 exams on an annual basis, according to the Atlanta-based company.

The PACS system is expected to go live at Michigan this summer.
