Physicians Medical Group of Santa Cruz County (Calif.), the lead organization of the Santa Cruz Health Information Exchange (HIE), has implemented the Elysium Virtual Health Record from San Jose, Calif.-based Axolotl Corp.

According to the company, the solution provides a comprehensive view of the patient, allowing physicians to electronically locate, connect to, and review charts that are drawn from data in multiple health care systems. Patient data is assembled using a record locator service to create a complete electronic record without commingling data from disparate sources, it says.

Santa Cruz County’s network connects a large IPA, two competing local hospitals, the County Health Clinics, two national and two local reference labs, two imaging centers and several FQHC safety net clinics.
