Andover, Mass.-based Philips is unveiling IntelliVue, a mobile viewing application that enables physicians to access patient information from any location within the hospital by providing data and alerts through a PDA device.

The application, which can be downloaded onto an existing PDA, receives patient data wirelessly through an 802.11 infrastructure and is supported via Windows Mobile 5.0 or Window Mobile 6.0 Classic and Professional, says the company.

Patient information is displayed on the screen in an easy-to-read format which includes a large numeric view and can store up to 10 seconds of data. Clinicians can also capture and store screen shots for future use, according to Philips.
