The Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS, Chicago), the state’s largest medical physician organization, is partnering with Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth to offer centrally-hosted, on-demand practice management services to its physician members in an effort to improve operational and financial outcomes.
Under the terms of the agreement, ISMS members will receive a discount on athenahealth’s revenue cycle management solution that integrates Web-based practice management software, payer information and back-office processing specialists into a single service, according to the company. Members will also have access to athenahealth’s practice management and billing service.
The Illinois State Medical Society is a professional organization that represents more than 12,000 physicians practicing in all medical specialties statewide. The Society advocates for patients and promotes the doctor/patient relationship, the ethical practice of medicine, and the betterment of the public health.
