The Region of Waterloo and Wellington County’s group of hospitals in Ontario, Canada, has selected AnyWare Group’s (New Brunswick, Canada) Role-Oriented Access Management software as the connectivity backbone of a new regional dictation and transcription system.

According to the company, providers will now be able to make more timely diagnoses, and have secure, real-time access to dictated patient reports from any hospital or remote location.

The initial phase of the implementation enabled voice dictation via telephone on one unified system, while the second phase linked Cambridge Memorial Hospital users to the remote access portal, to Grand River Hospital, and to St. Mary’s General Hospital, providing the three hospitals with regional system and report accessibility, says the company. The third phase will extend the new voice recognition technology to existing users and enable clinicians to dictate, edit, sign-off and distribute their transcribed reports safely and securely in real-time, it touts.
