Ochsner Health System, a seven-hospital network based in New Orleans, is implementing the Progeny Anatomic Pathology information system from Anna, Texas-based PathView Systems, Ltd., a partner with InterSystems Corporation (Cambridge, Mass.).

Progeny is built on the InterSystems CACHÉ high-performance object database. It is designed to provide a complete workflow solution with enterprise-wide scalability that can enable clinicians to deliver results at any time, according to the company.

Ochsner Health System is a non-profit, academic, multi-specialty system providing services in 80 specialties and subspecialties. Ochsner employs over 600 physicians and is the only Gulf South, Medicare-approved transplant center for heart, liver, kidney and pancreas.
