European Companies Partner on Cardiac Remote Monitoring

Sorin Group, a medical device company based in Milano, Italy, and Orange Business Services (Paris, France), a communications solutions integrator, are teaming up to develop and service a remote monitoring solution for patients implanted with cardiac rhythm management devices.

The system consists of an IP network that enables physicians to remotely monitor critical medical data transmitted through Sorin’s cardiac rhythm management devices implanted in patients living at home. According to the companies, it will provide comprehensive and timely analysis that can more readily detect progression of patients’ arrhythmia or cardiac diseases.

Orange Business Services is providing the network infrastructure, application development and systems integration.
