Capsule (Andover, Mass.) and B. Braun Medical Inc. (Bethlehem, Pa.) are collaborating on an initiative that will connect B. Braun’s Outlook Safety

Capsule (Andover, Mass.) and B. Braun Medical Inc. (Bethlehem, Pa.) are collaborating on an initiative that will connect B. Braun’s Outlook Safety Infusion System into clinical information systems to reduce manual programming errors and improve safety.

The companies say the partnership will also add B. Braun’s system to the library of medical device drivers supported by Capsule’s DataCaptor connectivity solution, including patient monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and anesthesia machines.

DataCaptor automatically converts the medical device data to HL7 or XML format and integrates it with an EMR, CIS or Alarm and Event Management system.
