Rochester, N.Y.-based eHealth Global Technologies has unveiled eHealthConnect, an online request service designed to streamline the process of retrieving outside patient medical records for referred-in patients.

According to the company, the service will provide customized forms for each healthcare institution customer of eHealth Global, and will generate the appropriate HIPAA release of information forms to allow access to records under HIPAA guidelines.

Users can log into a secure portal on the product’s Web site to access a form customized to that facility’s specific needs and preferences. The software creates a provider list and remembers user preferences, further streamlining the process, touts the company.
