Construction is complete on the new 385,000-sq.-ft. West Chester Medical Center, located just north of Cincinnati, Ohio. The $116 million acute care hospital and medical office building complex was designed by the Dallas office of RTKL, an architectural services organization.

The 162-bed, five-story facility features evidence-based design and high-tech tools designed to support advanced, patient-centered care, according to the company. RTKL worked with clinicians from Health Alliance of Cincinnati, West Chester’s owner, to develop an efficient, all-digital healthcare environment, it says.

Among the features included in the design are private rooms built to accommodate ICU and bariatric treatment requirements; strategically placed nursing stations; bedside electronic charting; large LCD screens that display medical images and data in the operating rooms and up-to-date surgery status listings throughout the facility; and a patient-nurse communication system that integrates the staff’s wireless VoIP phones into the nurse call system, according to the company.
